Since we lost Starbuck in September of 2009, we find ourselves for the first time in many years without a stallion. We have retained a 2009 buckskin
grandson of Starbuck. We named him Baymount's How Marvelous (Howie). We are hoping Howie will be our future herd sire. He is sired by Marvelous
Intrigue and out of our favorite Starbuck daughter Baymount's Ashley. He was orphaned at 42 days when we lost Ashley to an acute large
colon twist. We lost Starbuck about 3 months later. Ashley and Starbuck were our two favorite horses, so Howie has some big shoes to fill.
In 2010 we had two more Morgan colts we decided to also raise as stallion prospects. Baymount's Rio (Blacksaddle Starbuck x Baymount's Mexicali Rose) is
Starbuck's very last foal. He is a bay with his sire's sweet disposition. We would have loved to have Starbuck's buckskin color on this colt but
Rio would look good in any color so we aren't disappointed. Baymount's Apollo (Marvelous Intrigue x Rj Vintage Kimberley) is a striking dark
bay with tons of mane that displays splash characteristics. Apollo has a blaze face, one blue eye one brown eye and two white hind socks.
He is nice and mellow like we like our boys! Since we only need one stallion, not three, we will have to make a decision in the future on these colts.
